Working days between dates

Counting working days by eye across a month boundary is where scheduling and payroll errors start. This does it exactly, with weekends and declared holidays removed.

Working days between dates

Excludes weekends. Add holidays manually below.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored.

How it is calculated

1

Set the start and end dates of the period.

2

Exclude weekly offs according to your working pattern.

3

Subtract declared holidays falling inside the range.

Worked example

A period running 1 to 30 September with weekends off and two declared holidays gives 20 working days.

What to watch for

Frequently asked questions

Does this include the start and end dates?

Yes, both endpoints are counted if they are working days.

How do I handle a six-day week?

Adjust the weekly-off setting. In a six-day pattern only Sunday is excluded, which produces a noticeably higher count.
